What this is
Swirl marks are thousands of shallow scratches in the clear coat. Under diffuse light you never see them; under direct sun or an LED they turn the paint into a cobweb.
Correction removes them by levelling a few microns of clear coat with a machine polisher and abrasive compound until the scratch floor is the new surface. It is genuinely permanent — the defect is gone, not filled.
It is also the most labor-intensive thing we do, and it is finite: clear coat is only so thick, and a car can only be corrected so many times in its life. That is the honest argument for protecting the finish afterwards with a coating.
We work in stages and will show you a taped-off test section on your own paint before committing to the whole car, so you can see exactly what your finish will and will not give up.

Paint Correction
Can you remove every scratch?
If your fingernail catches in it, it is through the clear coat and polishing will not remove it — that needs paint. Everything shallower than that is a candidate. The test section tells us which yours are.
Is one stage enough or do I need two?
Most daily drivers look dramatically better after a single stage. Two-stage is for dark paint, show cars, and anyone who wants the last five percent. We quote after inspection rather than selling the expensive one by default.
How long does it last?
The correction is permanent. Keeping it that way depends on how the car is washed afterwards — go back to the tunnel wash and the swirls come back within a year. This is the service that pays for a ceramic coating.
