What this is
Automatic tunnel washes are why so many dark cars look like they have spiderwebs under a streetlight. Spinning brushes carry the last hundred cars' grit across your paint.
A two-bucket hand wash keeps that grit out of the wash mitt entirely — one bucket washes, one rinses the mitt, and a grit guard traps what comes off. Slower, and the reason the finish stays flat and dark.
The sealant at the end is what makes the difference in Missouri. Bugs in July and salt brine in January both bond to bare clear coat; on a sealed surface they sit on top and come off in the next wash.

Wax or sealant — what do you actually use?
A synthetic sealant by default; it lasts four to six months against a carnauba wax's six weeks. If you want the deeper glow of a carnauba topper for a show weekend, ask and we will layer it.
Will this remove scratches?
No. Washing and sealing cleans and protects; it does not correct. Swirls and scratches live in the clear coat and need machine polishing — that is paint correction.
How often should I have it done?
Every three to four months keeps protection continuous in this climate. More often if the car lives outside under trees.
